SUM 41 bass player and backing vocalist Jason "Cone" McCaslin is set to debut a new weekly radio show on 94.9 The Rock (CKGE-FM) Oshawa, ON, starting April 17. Sum 41 is a rock band that formed in Ajax, Ont. with Deryck Whibley (vocals, guitar), Dave Baksh (guitar), Jason "Cone" McCaslin (bass) and Steve Jocz (drums). The group formed in 1996, 41 days into the summer before its members entered grade 12.

Jason Paul "Cone" McCaslin is the bassist and backing vocalist of Sum 41. He also played bass, keyboards and guitar in his side project The Operation M.D., which is on indefinite hiatus. In 1999, he began playing bass guitar and singing backing vocals for Sum 41 after initial bassist Richard Roy's replacement, Mark Spicoluk left the band. Cone And Deryck Whibley are the only members of Sum 41.

Sum 41 has its origins in the band Kaspir, which was formed by Deryck Whibley and Grant McVittie in 1994, inspired by Weezer and Nirvana. As time went on, the band's founding drummer was replaced by Steve Jocz and the music became increasingly inspired by NOFX, particularly their 1991 album Ribbed.
